Over the last four years I have joined up with Yarn in Henderson Center to host monthly “Craft Nights” where we explored needle and wet felting techniques. It began in the shop where we had the opportunity to make new projects together and enjoy wine, snacks, good conversation and laughter.
When Covid hit, we had to move the format to Zoom and, unsure of what it would be like, discovered that the creativity and friendship continued and even helped carried us through this time! As an instructor I have to say I have been so encouraged by the ways creativity and a sense of community endured even when the format became virtual. I have had the privilege to keep deepening relationships while making new ones and exploring new possibilities of this fun woolly medium. I look forward to the day when we can create together, but am having fun in the mean time have and have been blown away what the participants continue to make.
This show is a celebration of creativity, community, endurance, fun and of course needle and wet felting with wool. The felted pieces on display are samples of felting pieces both from “Craft Night” projects and what participants have been inspired to create on their own.
